Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced EMS Functional Safety and Risk Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Electric Vehicle (EV) car products to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of functional safety standards, risk management processes, and regulatory requirements specific to EV car electronics. They will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of our EV car products throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of functional safety strategies, processes, and methodologies for EV car electronics, in accordance with relevant standards such as ISO 26262.

  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct functional safety assessments, hazard analysis, and risk assessments for EV car electronic systems and components.

  3. Define safety goals, safety requirements, and safety integrity levels (SIL) for EV car electronics and ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.

  4. Establish and maintain safety case documentation, including safety plans, safety analyses, and safety reports, to demonstrate compliance with functional safety requirements.

  5. Provide technical expertise and guidance on functional safety concepts, methodologies, and best practices to internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

  6. Conduct safety audits and reviews of design, development, and manufacturing processes to identify potential safety risks and ensure adherence to safety standards.

  7. Collaborate with customers and regulatory agencies to address functional safety-related inquiries, audits, and compliance assessments for EV car products.

  8. Facilitate the implementation of safety measures, safety mechanisms, and safety validation activities throughout the product lifecycle, from design to production.

  9. Support the development and validation of safety-critical software and hardware components, including safety mechanisms, diagnostic features, and fault-tolerant systems.

  10. Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and regulatory updates in functional safety for EV car electronics and recommend and implement relevant improvements and enhancements.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  2. 8 years of experience required in functional safety and risk management for EV car products and EMS industry.

  3. In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards and methodologies, such as ISO 26262, and their application to automotive electronics.

  4. Experience with hazard analysis and risk assessment techniques, such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).

  5. Familiarity with safety-related software development processes, including model-based development, software unit testing, and software validation.

  6. Strong understanding of EV car electronic systems, including power electronics, battery management systems, motor control systems, and autonomous driving technologies.

  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, customers, and regulatory agencies.

  8. Proficiency in safety analysis tools, such as PHA-Pro, Medini Analyze, or Relex, and familiarity with safety-critical software tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink.
