Commander, Navy Installations PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

Summary You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the PHYSICAL SECURITY DIVISION ofNAVSTA GUANTANAMO BAY SEC DET Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Responsibilities You will serve as a Physical Security Specialist with responsibility for designing, developing, coordinating, and planning physical security and loss prevention. You will conduct security surveys/ inspections in support of NAVSTA GTMO. You will assist in the management of Electronic Harbor Security System and Perimeter Security and Surveillance System. You will coordinate with contractors and NAVFAC for system maintenance, upgrades and repairs. You will review policy directives from a higher authority. You will develop and prepare implementing procedures and guidelines for NAVSTA GTMO for assigned functional areas which involve physical security/ lose preventions, and protection of varying security interests. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience may include 1) Determine and identify the necessary resources (e.g., funds, staff, equipment's, etc.) to implement effective Physical Security or Loss Prevention Programs 2) Conduct surveys and inspections to verify the security of personnel, sensitive information, or equipment 3) Manage security directives relating to the Physical Security and loss prevention program 4) Conduct annual Physical Security surveys to assess vulnerabilities and risks. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with the conduct of physical security surveys and inspections, travel to and attendance at meeting and conferences away from the work site. Items carried typically are light objects such as briefcases, notebooks, and Navy regulations required to conduct inspections and surveys. Lifting of moderately heavy objects is not normally required; however, incumbent must be capable of traversing ladders, unimproved terrain, maneuver in crawl spaces and above dropped ceilings during inspections. Work Environment: The work is primarily performed in an office-like setting involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places of offices, meeting and training rooms, and private or government vehicles, using safe work practices with office equipment, avoiding trips or falls, observing fire regulations and stop signs, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, air conditioned, and ventilated. Work outside the office requires exposure to year-round extreme high temperatures.
