SUMMARY Configure, administer and maintain the company’s Network Laboratory. Responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and validating new equipment and/or solutions to ensure their seamless integration into our product and service catalogue. Provide technical assistance with troubleshooting advance technical problems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Maintain the Network Lab operating in optimal conditions.Conduct comprehensive testing of new network equipment, products, and solutions.Identify, analyze, and resolve issues during the testing phase. Collaborate with vendors to address hardware or software issues prior to implementation on our production network.Develop and execute test plans, reports and documentation tailored to each equipment/solution.Test new firmware, configuration changes and network upgrades prior to implementing them on our production network.Provide internal Level 3 support to complex network problems.Test and recommend new equipment and testing tools.Provide technical training to internal employees. Performs all other duties as required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This Job has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Telephony or Electronic Technology or five years of related experience; or equivalent experience and training in related assistance, support and repair technical fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requires a strong IP networking, security, VoIP, voice and data telecommunication technical installation, configuration and repair knowledge and aptitude, with a minimum of 5 years (preferred) of IP Networking, VoIP and data telecommunications services installation, configuration, troubleshooting and repairing experience. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIESStrong understanding of network protocols, hardware configurations, telecommunications standards, IP, TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP configuration.Computer network operation maintenance skills and knowledge in routers, switches, firewalls, APs and fiber optic systems.Proven experience in testing, troubleshooting, and validating telecommunications equipment, services and systems.Knowledge in Optical carrier, SDH, TDM services.Knowledge VoIP services and protocols, SIP, MGCP, H.248, H.323, SIP-T.Excellent troubleshooting skills in Data and Voice Systems.Knowledge in troubleshooting and proficiency with diagnostics tools such as, VIAVI, Sunrise, network TAPs, OTDR, SNMP, Wireshark, Syslog and others.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
