This is a great opportunity to be part of Ankura’s fast-growing ABS (Internal) organization accounting and finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist (Associate) will have a key role in supporting the day-to-day processes of the accounts payable department. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys a full and sometimes deadline-driven day and has excellent interpersonal skills. They will have relevant experience with an accounts payable department and have demonstrated exceptional competencies through previous employment performance. The candidate selected for this role needs to be in the Gurugram area. This role can often work remotely but there will be needs to go into the Gurugram office at times. The hours for this position are approximately 2:30PM IST to 11 IST.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day functions of accounts payable ensuring accuracy and completeness of all processes.

  • Process and settle all invoices across the company, and ensure all proper approvals have been received

  • Communicate with suppliers/internal clients and resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation and determining appropriate adjustments

  • Collaborate across departments to manage supplier relationships, account classification and financial reporting

  • Assist with additional areas of accounts payable and ad hoc requests

  • Ensures deadlines are met and that any issues are communicated timely.

  • Supports and maintains controls over processes.

  • Troubleshoots any recurring process issues, determining root cause and driving solutions.

  • Supports other processes as requires such as contingent workers, travel expense reimbursement and corporate card programs.

  • Supports global initiatives and provides assistance to the international operations team.

  • Develops skills in others through knowledge sharing and reinforcing best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline is preferred

  • 2-5+ years of Accounts Payable experience.

  • Proficiency with Excel

  • Experience with WorkDay a plus.

  • Joy in serving “clients” (i.e., employees and suppliers).

  • Clear and concise verbal and written communications.

  • Excellent active listening skills.

  • High level of organization and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with people at all levels and across organizations.

  • Willing to admit mistakes, learn from them, and ask for help.

  • Analytical; enjoys problem-solving.

  • Self-starter with limited supervision.

  • Strong desire to improve and continuously learn.

  • Professional demeanor and behavior; can-do attitude.
