Job Description

In the role of Head of Architecture, you will be required to be a highly experienced technical leader with full design, project management authority and accountability for larger, more visible and more complex projects. You will demonstrate exceptional competence and achievement over a sustained period in the Architecture field as well as possess technical excellence is critical to the success of the delivery of projects.

You will additionally source and follow up on business development leads and show consistent positive contributions to the region. You will supervise the work of others and conduct performance evaluations.

Additionally, you will possess superior leadership and initiative. You will demonstrate leadership to positively impact office morale, and mentor staff, as well as effectively promote the core values of the firm through consistently providing an example to staff.

Direct and lead towards ensuring integrated business delivery, optimization and sustainability of the Project Engineering and Management through their lifecycle.

Collaborate, interrogate and optimize business performance by working across internal functional teams Engineering, Project Management and Control, Contracts, HR and other stakeholders

Ensure that all commercial, technical and managerial decisions are fully compliant with AECOM good business practice, with particular emphasis on HSE matters, regulatory compliance; and providing input to strategy development and business planning.

Roles & Responsibilities -

  • Prepares and submits project status reports to the regional manager, business line and client

  • Confers with project team members to provide or obtain technical advice (e.g. on documentation levels, design details, and engineering details) and to resolve problems

  • Follows established business principles (e.g. business filters, etc.) to ensure projects meet all projected requirements

  • Assures projects are developed in accordance with the work plan and all applicable business procedures

  • Raises the operations level of awareness of potential risks which could affect the successful execution of the project

  • Coaches project team members for individual development purposes and to improve overall project team effectiveness

  • You shall be involved on Project delivery, Architecture Design, Quality Assurance, Technical knowledge, People management, Leadership guidance and Mentoring, co-ordination with Lead Offices, project cost control, assistance during estimation, recruitment, workload assessment and forecasting.

  • Exposure to work on International - design standards, construction technologies and digitization tools like BIM (Building Information Modeling), AutoCAD, Sketch up, Revit.

  • Well versed with the concept design development and complete architectural & constructional detailing, drawing package & coordination with different Lead offices along with understanding the needs & requirements of the Project and getting it executed.

  • Ensure the design process recognizes current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate.

  • Engage all the building & infrastructure specialists during the design development and review process.

  • Enrich experience in Project Coordination and Interface with ME, UK, US – Canada & ANZ stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Degree Qualified, M Arch, PHD

  • Experience in managing a design team and working in a multidisciplinary environment

  • Sound knowledge of Architecture design and documentation

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong management skills and experience. Ability to gain client confidence and trust, through strong technical communication.

  • Excellent reputation as a seasoned professional for integrity and judgment that is beyond reproach

  • Strong “executive presence” with the ability to build immediate trust and respect

  • Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders, collaborative by nature with strong people skills

  • Strong business judgment to assess complex situations with multiple issues

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Business acumen and entrepreneurship approach

  • An energetic and committed individual, with a “hands-on” approach.

  • An ability to solve problems, ‘trouble-shoot’ when the situation demands.
