Develop novel machine learning algorithms to develop new indicators for demand forecasting prediction with applications to reserve estimates and to the development of affordability programs. Implement state of the art machine learning model and evaluate their performance. Develop machine learning across different data and machine learning domains.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate the performance of the machine learning algorithms across an interdisciplinary team

  • Write both internal and external documentation of the novel algorithms, including publications in machine learning and other scientific conferences and journals

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in machine learning, computer science, statistics, biomedical informatics, or a related field

  • 7+ years of industry/academic experience in machine learning or a related fiel

  • Hands-on experience in implementing and training machine learning algorithms and statistical analysis, including for example non-parametric tests, mixed linear models, modern supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms such as SVM, random forest, PCA, t-SNE, clustering, LMMs, and deep learning.

  • Experience with Python, Spark (Databricks), DevOps Tools (Github Actions, Docker, etc.)

  • Effective communication skills, including in an interdisciplinary environment

  • Solid written communication skills of scientific material.

  • Proven deep understanding of mathematical foundations of machine learning, including statistics, linear algebra, and computer science

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with actuarial models

  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary environment, particularly in engineering and medicine

  • Demonstrated track record of patents and/or scientific publications in machine learning or a related field.

  • Work on health-related fields (e.g., biomedical informatics, bioinformatics, biomathematics)

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative and fluid work environment
