UL, LLC Manager Corporate Investigations - Ethics & Compliance in Gurugram, India

  • Manage and supervise investigation initial intake and triage of investigative matters and assign the cases to Team Members for investigation or act as the case manager as necessary.

  • Subject matter will include intellectual property, employment/HR, litigation, commercial, and ethics & compliance matters as needed.

  • Manage and mentor other team members in the investigation team on Investigation management and case disposal.

  • Ensure that evidence gathered, and conclusion developed in a case investigation by team members were factually analyzed.

  • To vet and approve investigation reports prepared by team members before it is being released to Business Leadership.

  • Manage and review the case preparation prepared by other investigators.

  • Work with other UL staff who assist and/ or conduct investigations and manage case files to provide training and encourage best practices and coordinate investigations where desired.

  • Identify investigative-related guidelines and best practices within legal department.

  • Create and execute internal and external training programs relating to investigations, ethics and compliance and other related topics.

  • Drive and promote our culture of ethics and compliance across the Company.

  • Monitor, identify, escalate and report ethics and compliance issues, irregularities, and violations.

  • Effectively manage and track remediation/observations/findings.

  • Manage the daily operations of the Ethics & Compliance Program in the Greater China region, including its application to employees and facilities in multiple international jurisdictions.

  • Manage alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; direct and conduct ethics & compliance investigations.

  • Provide reports to the Senior Director Ethics & Compliance, General Counsel, and others regarding compliance initiatives and risk.

  • Performs any other duties as directed.

  • Represent UL and Corporate Investigations at internal and external events, groups and organizations to strengthen partnerships with UL clients and stakeholders.

  • Serve as an independent body for advice on ethical issues, conflicts of interest, compliance and related issues.

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • Bachelors' degree in Law enforcement or compliance plus generally 8 years experience with managing and conducting investigations and projects.

  • Any other degree disciplines such as Internal Audit may also be considered. Certification - CCEP, CCEP-I, LCEP, CPA, CIA or CFE Excellent oral and written communications skills (Fluency in English required but other language skills would be a definite asset).

  • May be required to deliver presentations on behalf of UL at various conferences, trainings and other events, experience with developing and conducting training is preferred.

  • Substantial enforcement experience, including research, intelligence analysis, formulating and executing investigative and enforcement actions, review, and preparation of investigative reports.

  • Sound judgment and a demonstrated ability to make timely decisions.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Self-starter able to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience working collaboratively on cross-functional and cross-divisional teams.

  • Strong personal integrity and aligned personal values.
