Microsoft’s Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) organization is the engine that powers our cloud services. Our data center construction team is dedicated to delivering the highest quality data centers for our cloud services. As we continue to revolutionize the way construction projects are planned, managed, and executed, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Site Logistics Coordinator to join our diverse and inclusive team. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring a safe and efficient work site.  

The Energy Marshal will be responsible for all aspects of the energy isolation program to meet the project's needs.  Working collaboratively with our construction and commissioning teams, you will ensure that all isolation and energization activities are well coordinated and completed to highest standards of performance and safety.   

In your role you will report directly to the Construction Manager and work across all projects on the site to ensure consistency in the planning and execution of the energy isolation program.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Energy Isolation processto implement an Energy Isolation Program across the campus and project.

  • Establish and manage an Energy Isolation assurance process, closing any gaps identified in assurance audits.

  • Participate in High Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings related to Energy Isolation.

  • Ensure approval processes for proposed Energy Isolation procedures are in place.

  • Collaborate with the Authorizing Energy Marshal to establish an Energy Isolation Permit process.

  • Review Statements of Work (SOWs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Scripts, identifying all energy sources.

  • Determine if group or individual Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) will be required.

  • Verify qualifications, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) of personnel performing energy isolation work.

  • Act as an independent authority for stopping unsafe work practices related to Energy Isolation.

  • Liaise with operations to manage energy isolation activities that may impact data center core operations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications * *    

  • Good years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities  

  • Experience working for a General Contractor or trade.   

  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills  

  • Detailed understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems to include integrated testing, MOPs/ SOPs of installation, functionality and troubleshooting; etc 

  • Experience in directing and/or supporting the commissioning effort 

  • Willingness to travel 0-25% 

  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff   

  • Ability to influence cross-discipline teams 

  • Construction Health & Safety Knowledge  

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
