Eaton Corporation Lead Engineer (Design for Cost) in Hadapsar, India
What you’ll do:
"We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer to support the deployment of the aPriori tool along with Design for X (DfX)/ Concurrent engineering within our engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost modeling within both engineering and supply chain contexts, as well as expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis. This role will be based in Engineering Operational Excellence team at EIIC, Pune.
The incumbent needs to play important role to collaborate with various product engineering teams to drive Design to cost philosophy during early phase of New Product Introduction. The incumbent should have sound hands on experience of cost methodologies and tools. He/She should have awareness of various manufacturing processes and its relation to cost estimation. "
" • Lead deployment of the aPriori tool within engineering teams
• Assist business team developing cost models and Design for Manufacturing (DfM) early in the design phases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the aPriori tool aligns with engineering best practices, including concurrent engineering, Design for X (DfX), and set-based design.
• Build training material and assist improving engineering standard work with standard work committees
• Provide training and support to engineering teams on the use of the aPriori tool and related processes.
• Communicate the benefits and capabilities of the aPriori tool to stakeholders, demonstrating how it fits within the broader context of engineering best practices
• Utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs & acts as a cost expert

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with demonstrated experience in cost engineering within organization.
810 years of experience with multinational engineering organization
Skills:
"Proven experience with the aPriori tool or cost modeling software.
Strong knowledge of cost modeling within engineering and supply chain contexts.
Expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis.
Familiarity with engineering best practices such as concurrent engineering, Design for X (DfX), and set-based design."
Work & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural team. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.
