Primary Focus

The First Mate reports directly to the captain and is trained to take command in absence of the captain. The position will be trained and qualified to assume overall responsibility for the safety of the RSC-2, equipment, and embarked personnel. All duties and responsibilities performed in accordance with the Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

· While on watch or in the absence of the captain is ultimately responsible for the safety of the crew, the material condition of the vessel, and will immediately report any change in Mission Capability of the RSC-2 to the PMRF Okinawa Representative so appropriate action can be taken and to evaluate if Mission Support will be affected.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

· US Coast Guard (USCG) 500-Ton near Coastal First Mate license

· Secret Clearance Required.

Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, and articulate manner to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail

· Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.

· Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.

· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

· Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of common database and reporting tools.

· Must possess the ability to work in any condition like bending, twisting, and standing to execute normal job duties.

· May be exposed to extreme weather conditions and heavy equipment.

· Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.

· Must be able to work varying work schedules and/or extended hours to meet business needs and project deadlines.

· Ability to travel for short term business assignments or professional development purposes.

USD $100,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
