About this role

The Operations Graduate Program (OGP) at Volvo Group Trucks Operations (GTO) is a global 15-month program where you are offered the perfect mix of on-the-job learning and diverse training modules. You will get the chance to use your knowledge and creative skills while gaining valuable experience working with real products on real business topics.

The Volvo Group North America Operations Graduate Program (OGP) does not offer current or future sponsorship. Individuals with temporary visas or who require sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for the program.

What you will do

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

We put the Power in Powertrain, delivering energy to Volvo and Mack trucks in various forms, including Internal Combustion, Batteries and more. You’ll be a part of a team, both locally and globally, dedicated to securing these and future power sources for our site. Below are some of the additional core responsibilities.

  • Ensure that assembly processes are developed and secured with the goal of aligning the global assembly master processes.

  • Responsible for safety/ergonomics, quality, delivery, lean processes and the cost of the assembly process as well as projects per staff and competence development.

  • Building relationships with employees and colleagues.

  • Strive to achieve Engineering/Assembly/Plant KPI’s.

  • Foster a continuous improvement culture focused on waste elimination, employee engagement, and application/practice of lean theory.

  • Being a forward thinker with regards to new technology and innovation.

  • Development of future assembly engineering solutions to lowest possible cost, and with flexibility for product and volume changes

Minimum Education Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters of Science in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

  • Have received a BSc or MSc degree within the last 2 years

  • Maximum two years previous working experience prior to, or after graduation

  • Fundamental knowledge of internal combustion engines

  • Fundamental knowledge of torque theory

  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing principles

  • Understanding of the Agile working concept

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base salary range is set at $68,300.00 - $84,400.00, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
