What you will do

As a Senior Product Specialist within the Technical Services department, you will lead vehicle product quality issue investigations that demand the highest levels of product knowledge, problem solving, and service attitude to serve our customers & field service network. You will lead engineering-level diagnosis & repair support guiding workshop mechanics for truck uptime, as well as root cause understanding to support product quality solving processes.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute to Quality objectives supporting the NA market & Mack globally to maximize vehicle uptime, minimize warranty cost, and maximize customer satisfaction: early detection of customer quality issues, first-time-right repair guidance, diagnostic robustness

  • Provide technical service for vehicle product quality issues (hardware, electrical, software) with engineering expertise, advanced diagnostics, and analysis tools. Work closely with Volvo field service network as a technical resource to provide remote and/or on-site vehicle technical investigations to resolve customer vehicle problems. Convert product knowledge gained through analysis and field investigations into knowledge shared within Volvo to influence our designs, and workshop experience.

  • Initiate & lead technical problem definition investigations and root cause analysis of complex field product issues. Lead technical investigations through “real time” & “hands-on” product technical problem solving using engineering tools. Engage component & system experts to define the product problem, cause, & recommended solutions.

Quality & Customer Satisfaction (Q&CS) Technical Services (TS) team within Group Trucks Technology has the responsibility to lead technical support of Volvo Group NA Trucks and for Mack globally through technical knowledge, problem solving, & service mindset. We investigate vehicle field quality issues delivering professional support and communication between the Brand aftermarket support network & Product Development organizations. We contribute to customer satisfaction directly through our field and aftermarket expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive related or technical industry, preferably in Engineering or Service

  • Ability to travel 15-20%, sometimes with short notice.

Preferred

  • Experience and knowledge in Workshop hands-on experience, Truck system interactions/interfaces, CAN troubleshooting, Datalogging & analysis

  • Data acquisition tool skills: Deweysoft, CANalyzer, VECTOR, ATI Vision

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base salary range is set at $82,575 - $115-605, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
