Eaton Corporation Engineering Supervisor (Welding) in Haina, Dominican Republic

Eaton’s ADMIN Administrative division is currently seeking a Engineering Supervisor (Welding).

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Design and implement processes in welding operations that can achieve the levels of required quality, customer service and manufacturing, providing technical support to maintain and improve the efficiency and productivity levels desired by the implementation of the Eaton Business System Tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide resources and continuous improvements to manufacturing processes.

  2. Correct and prevent manufacturing problems related to the process and productivity.

  3. Follow up, improve and monitor metrics or capacity measures, such as Yield, Scrap, Productivity, Efficiency.

  4. Monitor and control flow of production processes through the development and implementation of the EBS tools.

  5. Determine the man-load for the welding operations lines and provide the equipment, machine and tools required on demand.

  6. Design the manufacturing systems Lay-Out.

  7. Develop and implement programs to reduce costs and increase efficiency of productivity.

  8. Analyze customer complaints and develop corrective action plan.

  9. Monitor and implement quality standards based on EQS to ensure the certification of standard.

10.Analize and evaluate capital cost metrics: Scrap, rework, etc.

11.Provide training and coordination to the engineering assistants/co-op assigned to the welding operation.

12.Design manufacturing instruction and develop new process in order to provide work procedure and support the goals achievement.

13.Perform an active participation in the Departmental Teams.

  1. Develop and design welder operations and tooling for new product introduction and / or changes (PRO launch projects)

15.Develop capital projects appropriations.

16.Update PFMEA tools and Control Plans with unusual conditions of the production process, as specified by the EQS.

17.Mantain monthly updated of VSM, Standard Work and Error Proofing tools.

18.Responsible for TPM and SUR ELSS tools for welding operations.

19.Follow up the Implementation of ECN’S (Engineering Change Notice) aplicable to their areas.

20.Responsible for technical personnel for welding operations (Setups & process technicians)

21.Plan, create and implement preventive maintenance for welding machines and operations.

Generate and follow-up spare parts purchase orders for welding equipment’s

  1. Monitor all set-up functions to comply with electrical safety, machine guarding, hot work and any other safety procedure applicable (such Omron, ENHESA, NFPA, OSHA, and others)

  2. Active participation to troubleshoot and implement actions to eliminate holds related to welded assemblies (UL, 3rd party or internal)

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Bachelor degree of Industrial, Electromechanical or Electrical Engineer.

  2. Minimum experience of 3 years in similar positions.

  3. Full Bilingual (English / Spanish)

  4. PC knowledge: Auto Cad, Minitab and Microsoft Office. Preferred Power BI.

  5. Interpretation of design knowledge

  6. Knowledge SPC (Statistical Process Control), Lean Manufacturing, Greenbelt, Lead Auditor ISO9000.

  7. Knowledge of project management and problem-solving techniques.

  8. Competencies: Builds Organizational Capability, Thinks & Acts Strategically and Gets Results

  9. Preferred Knowledge of Principles and Electrical Safety
