As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist with PCB Piezotronics, Inc, you will lead the planning, execution and implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of environmental health and safety strategies, programs, policies, processes, systems and training that ensure a safe manufacturing work environment at all PCB US Facilities. This role will work cross functionally with all departments in the company and will serve as the champion of EHS at PCB. Must have a thorough understanding of local, state and federal safety and environmental regulations as they apply to their workplaces and be comfortable working in dynamic environments.

Additional Duties:

Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.

  • Environmental Permit & License Management (Ex. SPDES, Chemical Bulk Storage, NYS Air Permit, Sewer Discharge)

  • Manage Inspections and written correspondence with regulatory agencies

  • Knowledge of Industrial Wastewater treatment practices and RCRA waste management

  • Chemical Compliance Management

  • Facilitate Compliance Driven Projects - Identification, Evaluation, Equipment selection, Purchasing, Installation &Training, New Policy Implementation

  • Environmental Program/Policy Revisions

  • Prepare and Deliver Environmental and Safety Training Topics

  • Prepare Annual Tier II, TRI, Hazardous Waste, Waste Reduction, and other applicable Reports

  • Familiarity with RCRA, SPDES, Bulk Chemical Storage

  • Familiarity with air, water, waste, DOT and other environmental regulations and reporting requirements for Federal, State and Local regulations

  • Manage company safety committee program, including executing safety audits and conducting job hazard analyses

  • Execute responsibilities of Lead Exposure Control, Respiratory Protection, and Medical Surveillance Programs

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent education/ work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance, manufacturing experience preferred

  • HAZWOPER 40

  • Strong communication verbally and written

  • Demonstrated experience delivering EHSS Training

  • Knowledge of Environmental Regulations

  • MS Office Skills - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Typing, sitting, bending

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent education/ work experience

Experience:

  • Method 9 Certification Preferred

  • Radiation Safety Officer Training

  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) designation

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional, As Needed

This position requires access to “controlled technology” as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730 et. seq.) and “technical data” as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R, Chapter 1, Subchapter M).
