As a Shop Foreperson, You Will:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the shop
Supervise all shop staff
Ensure that all work is performed safely, cost effectively and in a timely manner
Implement and follow a cost-effective preventive maintenance program for all equipment (and facilities as applicable)
Manage parts inventory; ensure timely and effective acquisition of materials; minimize on-hand inventory
Ensures that all shop personnel, equipment, vehicles and work areas are always following all safety policies and regulations
Liaise with Operations Supervisors and drivers in a professional and team-oriented manner
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Maintain all equipment records and files
Always ensure compliance of CMMS and is accurate and complete
May be required to (in a limited capacity) fill in for the Shop Superintendent when necessary
What You'll Bring:
Licensed Truck and Trailer Technician
Minimum of 3 years experience in shop and strong technical knowledge
Heavy Equipment License an asset
Experience with off road construction equipment an asset
Strong technical knowledge of equipment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
CMMS knowledge
Strong self-management and organizational skills and the ability to work well unsupervised
Must be a team player
