Job Description Summary

We are seeking for a Field Service Engineer based in Brisbane to join our Field Engineering Team. Your core focus will be to provide on-site support on software and hardware, carry out field and depot repairs, preventative maintenance, performance testing and electrical safety testing of company related electro-medical equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site software and hardware support for major metropolitan and regional hospitals in local territory.

  • Servicing customers’ instruments onsite or at the depot as required whilst ensuring product repair turnaround goals are achieved.

  • Plan, schedule and communicate Preventative Maintenance visits and breakdown visits to fit in with the customers’ requirements.

  • Comply with Preventative Maintenance, service agreement and support SOP’s.

  • Responsible for documenting all work (accurate and up to date) carried out in relation to remediation, repairs, preventative maintenance, calibration, performance, and electrical safety testing in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Participation in training courses on specialized topics, locally or overseas as required.

  • Ensuring relevant skills and knowledge are maintained to accomplish acceptable performance.

  • Maintaining knowledge and understanding of the latest Australian Standards relating to electro-medical equipment.

  • Responsible for setting and agreeing individual personal objectives with your manager and actively participating in the performance appraisal of those objectives.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting, interpersonal skills, as well as time management.

  • Ability to understand information accurately and to thus focus/ prioritize the team as appropriate.

  • Ability to positively contribute to a team environment, supporting others as well as working independently even under pressure.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with people at all levels, internally and externally.

  • Well organized, process oriented and diligent with an eye for detail and quality.

  • Flexible and adaptable with capability and willingness to embrace change.

  • Previous medical device repairs experience highly desirable.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Current unrestricted driver’s license and a own motor vehicle.

Relevant qualifications

  • Electronics/ Mechatronics/ Engineering certificate/diploma or degree preferred.

  • Understanding of computers and assigned software.

  • SAP, Salesforce or ServiceMax experience advantageous.

Travel requirements

  • Interstate and overseas travel may be required from time to time at a short notice.
