Job Description

Opportunity:

The Manulife Bermuda Branch was created to address the estate preservation and life insurance needs of high-net-worth clients. This branch caters specifically to distribution partners in the International High Net Worth Life Insurance market. Reporting to the Titles Manager, this position will work closely with Case Management and Distribution teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Review policy ownership structures including individuals, entities, and trusts, identifying ultimate beneficial owners for risk assessment

  • Conduct client risk assessments ensuring the appropriate level of due diligence has been provided to satisfy regulatory requirements at the time of onboarding and for inforce policy changes

  • Review legal collateral assignment documents, noting any discrepancies between the submitted document and approved versions, ensuring it is in good order prior to acknowledgement

  • Meet established service standards in terms of turnaround time and quality, while prioritizing urgent cases and critical issues

  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of business processes

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with high attention to detail

  • Understanding of due diligence requirements for individuals, entities, and trusts

  • Understanding of FATCA and CRS regulations as well as Bermuda AML/ATF regulations under Proceeds of Crime Act

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in high volume environment with tight deadlines

  • Strong technical competence with systems/databases/Microsoft office

  • Independent, with the ability to take accountability for actions

  • Sensitivity and adaptability to international and cultural differences

Experience/Education:

  • Post-secondary degree

  • Previous life insurance industry knowledge would be an asset.

  • Minimum of one year experience working in a financial institution with responsibility for carrying out client due diligence reviews
