The Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmens is one of Canada’s first full service, privatized convention and event facilities located in the heart of downtown Hamilton. It is the largest event venue in the City of Hamilton capable of producing exceptional events. Job Types: part-time, permanent, flexible scheduling
Wages: $27+ per hour
YOU WOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Work closely with the Executive Chef in all aspects of culinary procedures
Assign and oversee tasks for Kitchen team
Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
Prepare and execute banquet service for socials, corporate, community, and even celebrity events
Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen; instilling safe food handling practices
Participate in the production and plating of all food service areas
Take proactive efforts to minimize waste and maximize quality
Maintain product consistency of seasonings, portion, and appearance of food
Make a difference in the lives of each and every one of our guests by directly contributing to their extraordinary experiences
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge in Food Safety Standards and Guidelines, including safe food handling practices and certificate
1-2 years’ culinary experience
Experience in the catering or event industry preferred
Team oriented and willing to learn
Positive, outgoing, and friendly team member
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Evening, mid-week, and weekend availability required
Experience working in a unionized environment considered an asset
