O'Neal Industries, Inc. Quality Technician in Hamilton, Ontario
Description
Leeco Steel, North America’s leading supplier of carbon, HSLA and alloy steel plate, is seeking a highly- motivated, detail-oriented quality technician for our Hamilton, Ontario facility.
This is a 2nd shift position that will be scheduled 4 days a week. Monday - Thursday 3pm - 130am.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining Leeco’s Quality Management System and assuring customer specifications and requirements are met
Interact with a variety of stakeholders – including sales, warehouse and inventory teams – regarding quality issues
Analyze and develop quality procedures and facilitate the training of these procedures.
Assist in the execution and follow through of Corrective Action Reports
Review and resolve customer complaints regarding products and services
Troubleshoot product quality issues and recommend modifications to procedures and/or methods where applicable
Conduct and/or coordinate internal and external audits
Contribute to the tracking of supplier performance and support the purchasing team with the resulting information
Receive, process and follow through on Out of Tolerance Report (OTR) information received from warehouses and customers
Monitor the Credit Return Authorization (CRA) system of completeness accuracy in describing details of a customer issue
Assist in the completion of Certificate of Conformance (COC’s)
Assist sales with customer visits when necessary
Maintain calibration on all warehouse measuring tools
Assist in supplying customer questionnaires, surveys and other regulatory requirements
Assist in overseeing procedure adherence in the cutting of steel plate
What You Bring
A high school diploma
2 years of experience as an inspection or quality technician
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
The ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
High-level of visual awareness
Experience collecting data and drafting reports
Experience using a variety of measuring tools, such as tape measures, calipers, rulers and micrometers
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Knowledge of quality standards (ISO, ASTM) and internal procedures
The ability to stand for long periods
Willingness to travel
