Job Title: Welder and Fabricator
Job Description
Join our team as a Welder and Fabricator to work on the fabrication of custom steel structures and piping systems to tight tolerances. You will be responsible for interpreting detailed engineered drawings and executing limited detail fabrication requests. Your tasks will include material take-offs based on engineering drawings, estimating time required, and scheduling projects. You will interpret blueprints and weld call outs to fabricate hardware within drawing specifications, and operate equipment like forklifts, overhead cranes, and oscillating man lifts. Additionally, you will operate various metal forming machines such as press brakes, plate rollers, and pipe/tube rollers/benders. Effective communication and the ability to develop customer relations are crucial. You will also utilize Microsoft Office 365 for work package management.

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Hampton, Virginia.
Work Environment
Work onsite at the NASA Langley Research Center located in Hampton, VA. You will work independently and in groups with our team of Fabricators and Welders. The primary work location is in a shop environment with an office space equipped with a computer for timekeeping, email communication, and accessing engineering drawings. Your shift will be from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities available. Pay rate is based on your experience and relevant skills.
