Overall Purpose: This career step requires career level experience. Provides radio frequency (RF) and/or Radio Access Network (RAN) design. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Designs, plans and oversees installation, maintenance, and optimization, and/or performance of wireless radio access network communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition and ancillary equipment. May include GIS (Geographic Information Systems) performance analysis & drive testing. Analyzes RAN data to recommend optimal changes to RAN network to improve all key indexes and performance indicators. Job Contribution: Technical professional with some experience. Sound technical knowledge growing through application, expanding knowledge of ATT technologies.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: RFMEs (Radio Frequency Maintenance Engineers) are interference hunters. The RFMEs primary task is to protect AT&Ts licensed frequency spectrum. When interference impacts our network, RFMEs are deployed to identify the interference source and work with the owner and shut off the device. The RFME team works on many types of RF related issues including DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), troubleshooting and optimization issues, and PIM (Passive Intermodulation) issues. We have a high-tech toolset which includes spectrum analyzers, engineering test phones, CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface) analyzers and an extensive radio frequency tool kit. Knowledge of RF Principles and an understanding of the radio spectrum frequency bands. Understanding of wireless network architecture including Ericsson/Nokia Cell Site Hardware. Hands on experience with spectrum measuring tools such as Rohde & Schwarz PR100 receiver or similar spectrum analyzers and DAS tools recommended. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong ability to multitask and effectively schedule and manage multiple competing priorities. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work 80% to 100% of the time in the field.

Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
