Fluor Federal Petroleum Operations Civil Engineer in Harahan, Louisiana
POSITION WILL BE FILLED AS A CIVIL ENGINEER OR SR CIVIL ENGINEER DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE*
Design Engineering: 1.Plans and develops innovative projects to resolve civil and structural engineering problems that have an important effect on major SPR programs. Prepares Enterprise Change Proposals for revisions to the program baseline, and presents these to the appropriate change boards. 2.Prepares preliminary design feasibility studies for Major Maintenance (MM) projects involving civil or structural systems. 3.Provides designs and prepares Summary of Work packages for maintenance type construction subcontracts and Change Notice (CN) revisions to same. 4.Provides civil and structural designs and prepares Corrective Maintenance Plans (CMP) for site personnel to make repairs or changes to civil or structural systems. Lead Engineer: Functions as MOC Lead Engineer on assigned project and interfaces with DOE, the A-E and the Construction Management Services Contractor as well as with other groups within MOC. Design Reviews and Peer Reviews: Performs civil and structural design reviews on tasks done by others. Performs peer reviews of designs performed by other civil engineers. Special Studies and Failure Analysis: Analyzes failures of structures. Prepares scopes of work for surveying tasks and reviews survey results.
OandM and Q.A. Support: 1.Provides technical support to Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, and Quality Assurance regarding projects under construction and ongoing maintenance of existing facilities. 2.Provides turnover support for facility changes and additions to civil / structural systems and buildings. 3.Answers technical questions from MOC departments regarding civil and structural issues. Standard Specifications: Prepares, obtains CN approval, and issues SPR standard civil / structural specifications and data sheets. Technical Baseline Documentation Support: 1.Identifies and supports required changes to site system description manuals based on changes to existing facilities or the installation of new facilities. 2.Identifies and supports required changes to Priority 1 drawings (site plot plans) based on changes to existing facilities or the installation of new facilities. Maintains continuing technical education and training in latest technology
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university with a minimum of 3 three years of progressive engineering experience in oil/gas production petrochemical industry, and/or plant/facility engineering. (Senior level requires 7 yrs of experience) Candidates must have demonstrated experience in conducting civil and structural engineering analysis. Strong written and oral communication skills are required to effectively develop presentations, analytical reports and technical correspondence. Experience with and knowledge of ASCE-7, ACI 318 and AISC codes is required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES: Preference is given to candidates who hold the LA or TX Professional Engineer certification in Civil / Structural Engineering. Grade L security clearance may be needed.
