Housekeeper

*SUMMARY: *Performs a variety of service and housekeeping duties, including facility cleaning and maintenance, in assigned areas, following established schedules and using prescribed methods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Maintains assigned area of responsibility.
  2. Cleans meta, tile and porcelain fixtures in bathroom. Wipes all horizontal surfaces.
  3. Dries and wet mops floors; vacuums carpets and spot cleans when assigned.
  4. Spot cleans walls, glass partitions, and polishes metal surfaces.
  5. Disposes facility trash according to prescribed procedures.
  6. Cleans washrooms and bathrooms; replenishes supplies.
  7. Cleans bed and furniture in room of discharged resident.
  8. Performs isolation room cleaning as scheduled.
  9. Cleans wheelchairs as scheduled.
  10. Complies with facility safety program. Observes and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, or fixtures.
  11. Attends in-service training programs.
  12. Assists in cleaning of emergency spills.
  13. Observes established infection control procedures.
  14. Communicates with residents and staff.
  15. Adheres to the Peter Becker Community Code of Conduct and all Corporate Compliance and HIPAA Policies and Procedures.
  16. Attends all mandatory in-services.
  17. Attendance is an essential function for this position.
  18. Adheres to facility and department dress code.
  19. Performs additional duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

*EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: *High School Diploma Preferred

*LANGUAGE SKILLS: *Must be able to understand English and understand job responsibilities. Must be able to read and write basic English.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Maintain a clean environment throughout the facility. Job tasks will involve exposure to cleaning chemicals requiring precautions.
