ABOUT THE ROLE
Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a 1st Shift Haul Truck Driver to support operations at the Millville Quarry in Millville, WV. This position will be responsible for installing and assembling new machines and equipment. Maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery. This position hours are typically between 1pm-11:00pm.Hours may vary depending on the needs of the business.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Hauls materials, supplies, and equipment between distant points with operating vehicle in safe manner.
Loads and unloads or supervises the loading and unloading of assigned equipment, limiting the load to a safe capacity
Maintain a truck log, operating a radio or other communication equipment, and prepare paperwork.
Check oil and water, performing safety evaluations, and following directions to haul and dump loads accordingly
Safety Responsibilities - Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies to assume that environmental, health and safety are the first priority of the business. Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results.
Communicates with load and unload areas, hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all plant traffic controls.
Performs walk-around pre-trip safety inspections. Identifies any safety problems or concerns and report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and any other areas where safety can be improved.
Performs maintenance activities to ensure haul truck is maintained to the required standard and assist with other plant maintenance activities as required including site housekeeping or cleanup activities.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: Prior experience operating haulage trucks or heavy equipment
Excellent driving record
5+ years Heavy Equipment operation experience
Knowledge of heavy equipment safety protocol, machinery maintenance, and weighing procedures are helpful skills in this role
Current/Valid DOT card
Knowledge of the applicable occupational hazards and safety precautions
Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail
Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills
A background in construction is also beneficial in dump truck operator jobs (Preferable)
Ability to lift 50lbs
Reliable transportation
Licenses Required: N/A
Strong safety orientation
Must be able to work second shift hours as directed by supervisor, typical start time between 6:00am-5:00pm
Ability to work Monday through Friday, and occasional Saturdays
Additional Requirements:

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
