DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Within this role, you will work independently or as a contributing member of a team, completing assigned duties of limited scope, and communicating with the audit supervisor or auditor-in-charge.  You will gain a working knowledge of PLCB functions, auditing, and office techniques and travel to assigned site locations to interview staff and obtain evidence. Specific areas of fieldwork include testing transactions, performing inventories, visually examining records and documentation, and observing events to ensure that PLCB policy, designed internal controls, and laws and regulations are in compliance.  You will prepare and organize audit documentation to support the conclusions reached and the recommendations made.

You will receive assignments of increasing difficulty and responsibility with less supervision as knowledge and experience is obtained.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. This position is home headquartered.  The Liquor Control Board store assignment is contingent upon the employee's residential location.

This position will require field travel in the five (5) county Philadelphia area (Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester & Delaware). Alternate work schedule is available upon completion of the probationary period.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Financial Programs Trainee; or

Four years of accounting and/or auditing experience; and fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which includes fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting and auditing. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Bucks counties.  If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
