Reference #: 4585575 THE POSITION The Department of Transportation is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.  In this position you will be responsible for changing addresses on vehicle and driver license renewals, process change of address on MV-63 forms, and process vehicle registration renewals that cannot be forwarded to Falcon V. (MV-140, damaged, correction of name and Falcon V and Eagle failures).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Clerical Assistant 2 will change addresses on VR and DL applications and forms at 60 transactions per hour, update Vehicle Registrations that cannot be processed through the Falcon V at 46 transactions per hour, and utilize knowledge of PC and keypunching. The person in this position will use knowledge of Vehicle Registration and Driver License applications and examine Falcon V failures and determine the proper procedure to correct and process the application.

The person in this position will add application totals for blanket checks, maintain and reconcile cash drawer transactions, and change county of residence per customer's request. Other duties include making miscellaneous deposits of money when needed. The person in this position must be trained on the CARATS system, to perform independent research, will retrieve work from work table ensuring that the oldest work is done first, and maintain reports for supervisor. The Clerical Assistant 2 will cross train in other areas of renewal processing, and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or work leader. During peak seasons, the Clerical Assistant 2 must be available for overtime hours to alleviate the workload.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 80 hours per pay period. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $37,660.00 (before taxes).
