Reference #: 4372663 THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Governor's Office of General Counsel (OGC) is seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant 1 for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Office of Chief Counsel for a large legal office within the Department of State.  You will provide highly confidential clerical and office support within the division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Legal Assistant 1 performs a full range of legal assistant services within established office procedures for division attorneys while ensuring the confidentiality of information in all matters pertaining to the Legal Office and the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. The position is also required to create, maintain, and review division case files requiring a working knowledge of current procedures and case progression. You will also assist attorneys by retrieving case information, filings, and preparing case files for hearings and during appellate proceedings. This involves navigating through cloud-based case management systems to enter, access, and retrieve data. The Legal Assistant 1 also provides hearing or trial support by assembling and preparing exhibits.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after 6 months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
