* Position Overview*

The Loan Servicing Representative is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the loan servicing function.  As an integral member of the lending team, this individual will monitor pending and current loans, rate changes, and related transactions.  The Loan Servicing Representative will coordinate work within the department and with other departments to ensure delivery of superior quality service to both internal and external customers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes changes to loans in the core processing system based on approved documentation.
  • Responds to internal and external customer inquiries via phone and the ticketing system.
  • Documents credit bureau report disputes; researches and, if necessary, corrects records; prepares written response to borrowers.
  • Reviews and verifies maintenance entered by other users of core system for all loan types.
  • Reviews ticklers for manual rate changes and other required loan maintenance.
  • Reviews daily transaction exception reports and makes appropriate corrections.
  • Prepares and processes loan payments.
  • Performs loan maintenance changes to the core servicing system, in accordance with current maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  • Accepts and processes draws on lines of credit.
  • Completes account research and makes appropriate corrections, including payment adjustments.
  • Reviews daily billings, late notices and monthly statements for all loans.
  • Processes address changes, in accordance with current address change procedures.
  • Adds, and maintains, AFT and ACH loan payment information in the core system.
  • Completes billing maintenance and creates manual billing notices.
  • Performs Branch Capture end of day processing.
  • Produces disbursement checks for loan overpayments.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to a particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Performs duties of other Loan Operations personnel as needed.
  • Conducts direct communications, both written and verbal, with customers and other parties.
  • Processes customer telephone calls.
  • Performs tasks, which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.

     

Education & Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one (1) year related experience required.

     

Skill(s)

Moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate typing and PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word; loan processing; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate obje ts, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills.
