The Department of General Services is seeking a Maintenance Repairman 2 to work in the Governor's Executive Residence. This position performs a wide variety of maintenance and grounds keeping functions in order to maintain the efficient operation of the interior and exterior of the Governor's Residence. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will serve as a lead worker, performing minor maintenance repairs including electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and masonry. Work includes replacing and repairing non-motorized equipment, performing periodic maintenance on household appliances, and general carpentry work. You will be responsible for major cleaning duties, maintaining storeroom supplies, maintaining landscaping on grounds, as well as coordinating and overseeing the recycling program at the Governor's Residence. You may also have the opportunity to assist higher-level trades staff or supervisors with more complex assignments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. May be required to work different shifts to accommodate the needs of the First Family. This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
