Job Summary
Perform automotive repair on passenger cars to heavy trucks.
Primary Duties
Hands on/mechanical installation work.
Perform repairs such as removing and installation of undercarriage suspensions & replacement of springs ( front and rear).
Occasional welding of frames, rebuilding of torque arms, removal and installation of bushings on Hendrickson suspensions.
Removal and replacement of spring hangers, ball joints and king pins on passenger cars and heavy duty trucks.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, area, percentages, proportions, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Education / Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR
One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have valid PA driver’s license.
Inspection license and previous mechanic experience preferred.
Must possess knowledge of welding process.
