At Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) we take care of all J&J buildings around the world providing end to end services from Real Estate, Engineering & Strategic Project Delivery to Facilities Management. The IAP organization, or Insights, Analytics & Planning organization within E&PS is responsible for unlocking value with insights that drive outcomes.

The Senior Manager, Data Quality & Compliance will be responsible for collaborating with functional data owners to identify critical data sources and establish sources of truth. They work closely with the IAP Business Product Owner and our JJT partners to ensure the successful implementation of digital tools, focusing on best-in-class data operations regarding quality and eliminating errors and redundancies. Acting as a primary point of contact, they will facilitate communication and collaboration between various teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and streamlined literacy. They will support the IAP Director, Insights with overall data governance, working cross-functionally to execute data quality remediation and ensure the reliability of the organization’s data.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for the E&PS Data Literacy Training Program, guiding users in effectively understanding and applying data from varying sources. This position will support E&PS in meeting its objectives, providing a strong business product foundation and the opportunity will also support the deployment and adoption of standard processes and frameworks across E&PS teams end-to-end. Lastly, this opportunity will support the definition of trust guidelines, conform to data governance frameworks, and collaborate on data security to align with evolving JJT information security standards.

A suitable candidate for this role will have experience as a key member of strategic, technology-focused teams and will have extensive knowledge of common E&PS applications, tools, platforms, as well as knowledge of E&PS across Facilities Management, Real Estate, and Project Delivery. Key relationships include other IAP teams, regional/functional E&PS teams responsible for implementing their own technologies, JJT, and other enterprise J&J functions (e.g., Finance) to effectively manage data governance, analytics, and technology across E&PS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Sources: Partner with IAP Business Product Owner and JJT teams to define critical data sources and identify sources of truth.

  • Implementation Support : Work closely with the IAP Business Product Owner to ensure successful deployment of digital tools. Provide guidance, support, and training where appropriate throughout the implementation process; focusing on best-in-class data operations regarding quality and eliminating error/redundancy.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration : Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to data quality and data literacy. Facilitate communication and collaboration between different teams (e.g., IAP Business Product Owner, E&PS functional teams, JJT organization, business partners and system suppliers) to ensure alignment and consistency.

  • Data Governance : Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure daily execution of data quality remediation. Facilitate collaboration with E&PS / enterprise to ensure data can be trusted.

  • Data Accountability : Identify sponsorship & ownership and ensure / support execution of their data governance responsibilities. Socializing, enabling, and supporting functional data owners to implement quality activities.

  • Data Quality : Lead all aspects of quality, and collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize, identify and track remediations. Collaborate with functional data owners to define quality tests.

  • Data Usage & Literacy : Support E&PS Data Literacy Training Program in collaboration with functional owners. Provide guidance and ongoing support to help users understand and use E&PS data effectively.

  • Data Policy & Standards : Define & socialize trust guidelines (e.g., quality thresholds, data governance documentation). Collaborate cross-functionally to define & conform to trust guidelines, quality expectations, and overall Data Governance Framework across the data lifecycle.

Qualifications

Education:

  • University/Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a quantitative field including, but not limited to: Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science & IT required.

  • Elevated degree(s) in Data Science, Business Analytics or Business Administration preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience

  • Previous experience exceeding in a Senior Manager role (or higher)

  • Digital and project management experience

  • Strong foundational skills in Product Management methodologies

  • Excellence in story-telling communication and presenting complex information to technical and nontechnical partners

  • Excellence in technical and analytical skills

  • Strong understanding of system architecture principles and data quality operations

  • Strong program management skills, organization, coordination, and action-tracking skills

  • Strong proficiency in business process improvement to drive operational efficiencies and enhance organizational performance.

  • Demonstrated people management skills.

  • Successful track record of leading a team at large, multinational enterprises.

  • Ability to excel in a matrixed environment, influence others without direct authority, and collaborate effectively in cross-functional and international settings.

  • Ability to function effectively and multitask when presented with tight deadlines.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the capability of interacting with senior business leaders.

Preferred:

  • Experience within global medical device or pharmaceutical industry

  • Experience in either Facilities, Real Estate, or Project Management

  • Experience with relational databases (SQL, querying, macros, etc.)

  • Experience with software management and website development (CSS, JavaScript, Python, etc.)

Other:

  • Proficiency in the English language (both verbal and written) is required

  • This position requires up to 30% domestic and international travel

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is, in the Bay Area, is $136,000 to $234,140

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
