DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a UCC Elevator Inspector Trainee, you will learn to enforce the Uniform Construction Code and related codes for lifting devices. You will have the opportunity to assist with inspecting various lifting devices for periodic and initial inspection acceptance, as well as ensuring overall safety of operations. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to efficiently schedule and prioritize inspections and additional work as necessary. We are looking for a self-motivated candidate with excellent communication skills, as you will be interacting with stake holders as well as the public.

This is a home headquartered position which permits setting your own schedule on most days. Employees will be assigned to the following county and upon completion of the Trainee program, relocation to the following county, within six months of being certified is a requirement of employment: York.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in the construction, inspection, installation, maintenance, repair, or design of elevators, passenger ropeways, or other lifting devices, electronic equipment, electrical systems, heavy machinery, motors, engines, drives or hydraulic systems. Conditions of Employment: You must possess a valid driver's license. Post Employment Requirements: You must obtain a valid certification issued by the Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as an Elevator Inspector within the probationary period. You must reside in or be willing to relocate to York County within six months of being certified. Other Requirements: You must meet the .
