Description:

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center a member of Trinity Health of New England is looking for a Department Assistant to join our Case Management team.

Position Purpose

The Department Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all patients and clients and works collaboratively with the inpatient care Coordinators, Social Workers and Utilization Review Coordinator to assist in facilitating discharges.

What will you do:

  • Manages all incoming phone calls,

  • provides exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patient, staff and family members.

  • completes a variety of clerical and data entry assignments.

  • Maintains schedules and appointments for the department.

  • Assists in maintaining patient billing and/or insurance information

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Associate's preferred

  • Preferably 1 -2 years' experience in healthcare

  • Excellent computer abilities. Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions with multiple steps.
