Robert Half Payroll Analyst in Hartford, Connecticut

Description We are seeking a Payroll Analyst in Hartford, Connecticut. This role involves working within the financial industry, handling payroll-related tasks. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, working in a professional environment. Responsibilities:

• Utilize 'Automated Payroll' systems to process payrolls accurately and efficiently

• Maintain and update payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data

• Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

• Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently

• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports

• Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits

• Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance

• Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll

• Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks

• Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience in payroll processing is required.

• Strong knowledge of payroll software, databases, and MS Office (especially Excel) is needed.

• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.

• High degree of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial.

• Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail are necessary.

• Thorough knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to handle data with confidentiality.

• Good organizational and time-management abilities.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Must possess strong IT skills.

• Experience with automated payroll systems is a must.

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate analyses.

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
