Codified infrastructure ensures adherence to standards, provides insight into drift detection, and guarantees consistent infrastructure and application delivery. The Platform Development and Automation team’s Infrastructure-as-Code platforms empower our stakeholders to provision and maintain consistent environments across different regions and lifecycle stages. Our frameworks enable high-velocity configuration changes at cloud scale while ensuring a verifiable, repeatable, and dependable infrastructure fleet.

  • We develop tools and systems that either directly support cloud infrastructure or empower operational teams to build and manage it. We are responsible for understanding business goals, identifying how software supports achieving them, and implementing best-of-breed solutions.

  • We focus on core principles of software development including design patterns, maintainability, reliability, and scalability. Regardless of past experience or specialization, we are all software engineers first.

What You'll Do

  • Develop automation solutions for mission-critical SaaS infrastructure to ensure safe, repeatable, verifiable changes at cloud scale

  • Implement test-driven-development practices to create and expand platform deployment services

  • Automate complex, multi-stage configuration management workflows

  • Enhance our Infrastructure-as-Code implementation and be a thought-leader as we implement best practices in this area

  • Integrate automation solutions with existing tools and platforms including change management, security approval, and data visualization

  • Develop automated configuration audit tools to provide visibility into infrastructure compliance (HIPAA, PCI-DSS)

  • Implement data aggregation processes to deliver business intelligence metrics to organization leadership

Skills You Have

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a relevant field

  • Extensive experience in workflow automation (cloud infrastructure and/or on-premise) using Infrastructure-as-Code

  • Experience developing within a continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipeline

  • Experience with orchestration engines

  • Track record of delivering assigned projects on time, using Agile and DevOps best practices

Technical Qualifications

  • Advanced programming skills in at least one of Python, Ruby, Java, or Golang

  • Experience configuring CI/CD for code testing and delivery with Jenkins or similar automation platform

  • Proficiency with data aggregation and visualization tools such as OpenSearch and Grafana

  • Experience with operations and support processes and tools such as: Incident Management, Change Management, Ticketing Systems (JIRA, Service Desk), Service Level Agreements, Escalation processes

  • United States citizenship and federal criminal background check processing including but not limited to submission of SF-85 are requirements for this role.

  • Good written and oral communication skills. Should be able to clearly convey your thoughts and ideas to others

  • Committed self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative environment with personnel at all levels in the organization

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands

  • Ability to create troubleshooting guidelines and workflow instructions that can be handed off for others to follow

You are the Perfect Candidate if… In addition to the knowledge, skills, and experience listed above, you will score some extra points if:

  • You have designed, developed, and maintained automation systems in a large-scale SaaS environment

  • You have written Infrastructure-as-Code for Cloud deployment automation

  • You are proficient in Configuration-as-Code and Automated Configuration Management

  • You are proficient in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure including full stack lifecycle management

  • You have an understanding of network protocols and network configuration.

  • You have experience with network device or operating system scripting/automation languages

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
