How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Develop and implement American Express Global Network Services (GNS) expansion strategy across bank partners in India

  • Work to drive New card Acquisition various sourcing channels of issuing partner, Develop new avenues for Acquisition channels, Launch campaigns for sales channels to grow the NCA faster than the market

  • Implement thought through plans to Activate & engage the portfolio, Drive portfolio spend persistence.

  • Implement actions to maintain product line, develop & refresh product as the need arises, including pitches to senior leadership at partner organizations

  • Structure & complete sophisticated commercial deals with all external partners; Orchestrate contractual & commercial partner negotiations

  • Conduct partner business performance reviews and share actionable insights on portfolio performance

  • Collaborate & align with all relevant regional stakeholders – Legal, Finance, Marketing, Controllership, Portfolio Analytics, Partner Business Solutions

  • Partner with Marketing teams to develop campaigns which excite customers and are value centric to Amex and bank partners.

  • Understand the partner business strategies; craft and execute tactical plans to improve partner profitability, delivering on all key segments and objectives agreed within the context of the overall relationship and business agreements.

  • Develop positive relationships between American Express and the Bank partners across all operational functions (sales, product, marketing, operations, merchant acquiring and analytics)

  • Conduct regular Trainings with the Issuer sales teams and engage with sales channels across all levels

  • Track market practices & competition.

  • Work with collaborators within the organization to drive value to our Bank partners.

  • Maintain the relationship with key contacts on a day-to-day basis.

  • Leverage all American Express brand sponsorship properties, product/services to deliver exceptional customer value.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management Graduate with required 8-10 years of card issuing/large business development roles & payment schemes/network experience.

  • Must have a 360 degree understanding of Payments spanning across Issuing, Acquiring & Network

  • Possess deep understanding of other card schemes & of payment industry economics and can independently lead sophisticated financial deals

  • Excellent influencing, negotiation & relationship building skills, crafting interest at all levels of the prospect organization, and developing strategic business solutions.

  • Proven track record of demonstrating Thought leadership, Able to influence without authority & financial dexterity

  • Self-motivated with a business acumen, Strong negotiation skills creating an outcome where everybody wins

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to process information and incorporate feedback into an interactive business conversation.

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams.

  • Result oriented with experience in developing and driving successful sales strategies.

  • Ability to articulate knowledge about Amex Products, Services & Experiences to bank partners.

  • Comfortable with travel within India as may be required to support organizational goals

  • This is not a hybrid role and the colleague is expected to be in office on working days if not out for meetings/events
