Position : Director - Multi-Family Consumer Sales Segment

Location : Hawaii, HI

Job Purpose :

Responsible for multifamily (also known as multi-dwelling units, or MDUs) sales strategy, planning and execution. Multifamily homes represent both an exciting space for innovation and significant portion of our business. The position is responsible for analyzing the MDU market space to identify opportunities, understanding industry trends, creating and implementing sales strategies, and building and leading a sales organization across multiple markets, to drive fiber penetration, revenue and market share in the MDU markets. This role will lead the business to be successful in deployment of fiber to MDUs and maximize penetration in this market. This role will work cross-functionally to define the product, marketing, and sales strategies for how we improve and evolve multifamily products and customer experiences. The role will collaborate with various teams who will deliver comprehensive solutions for MDUs, and create pricing strategies, and sell and market to MDUs.

Essential Functions :

  • Collaborates with senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives to drive the MDU strategy, identify needs of the business, and prioritize areas of focus.

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop potential strategic growth opportunities, including new market entry, partnerships, joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions.

  • Support the company's business development efforts by managing the MDU business proposal process and execution of bulk and partnership agreements.

  • Work with teams to translate customer needs to winning solutions, RFP responses, relationship building with MDU owners and structuring of deals that are beneficial for the company and the customers.

  • Grow and foster sales leaders and a team that will drive selling into the MDU market and operationalize solutions for MDU.

  • Develop go-to-market strategies to meet specific needs and objectives of the company's identified MDU market goals.

  • Work with Pricing and Product teams to develop product offerings to penetrate the MDU market, including but not limited to MDU pricing models, WIFI solutions, additional products of interest.

  • Work cross functionally with the engineering, planning and construction teams to execute on MDU fiber builds and ensure timely delivery of doors based on commitments.

  • Establish business alliances and partnerships that leverage emerging technology and improve the company's strategic position in the MDU market.

  • Deep understanding of the MDU telecommunications market and insights into competitive products and consumer trends.

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or a related field required.

  • MBA or equivalent experience required.

Experience/Background :

  • 10+ years of full-time work experience, including positions with increasing responsibility for leadership of teams, departments, or business units required.

  • 5+ years of experience in the Telecommunications or Information Technology industries required or MDU management experience.

  • Financial planning and analysis, P&L experience, and management of multi-million dollar strategic programs or portfolios required.

  • Experience in strategy/business development, financial analysis, or strategic program implementation within a large Telecommunications, Information Technology, consulting firm, investment bank, private equity, venture capital, or other financial services organization desired.

  • Experience defining detailed business/product requirements and processes desired.

  • Proven ability to champion strategic business opportunities throughout the lifecycle and drive to key decisions; ability to define business value and drive to timely tradeoff decisions.

  • Proven track record in working successfully in cross-functional teams and driving success of identified company goals for business.

  • Project management, vendor management, and contract negotiation skills and experience required.

  • Experience with executive and stakeholder communication, alignment, negotiation, and influence required.

Special Knowledge/Skills :

  • Considerable business acumen, including knowledge and awareness of trends and developments in the telecommunications and information technology industries.

  • Strategic and analytical thinking, strong capability for problem solving and program management, sound judgment and a willingness to resolve issues and problems in a timely manner.

  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively.

  • Demonstrated organizational agility, including the ability to interface with and drive consensus among a broad range of personalities, skills levels, and job profiles -- job will interact with engineering, finance, IT, customer operations, sales and marketing departments.

  • Experience and comfort in initiating and cultivating relationship with external parties.

  • Creativity and sense of urgency.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Supervises ad-hoc project teams consisting of 25+ employees, contractors, and external advisors.

Miscellaneous :

  • Travel as required, but is generally not expected to exceed 30% on a sustained basis.

  • Management of resources out of market.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $224,000.
