An exciting opportunity is available for a full time, permanent Warehouse Operator to join our Stores team based at PCI Pharma Services, Hay on Wye.

You will be working on a rotational shift basis and will play a pivotal role in providing an efficient , high level of quality servic e within the Warehouse team to support with the manufacturing of life saving medications for patients.

Shift Pattern

Week One: Monday to Thursday 05.50 - 14.00 and Friday 05.50 - 13.10

Week Two : Monday to Thursday 13.50 - 22.00 and Friday 13.00 - 20.20

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that all warehouse activities are carried out in line with the requirements set by the Stores Coordinator whilst adhering to the life cycle of the warehouse.

  • Required to work safely and to a high level of quality at all times in line with the company and departmental standards.

  • Required to behave responsibly and diligently and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.

  • For this position it is a minimum requirement that you hold a full & current UK drivers licence.

  • Training will be provided to work at height

Safety

  • Operate safely in the area and lead by example. Take care of own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do). Co-operate with others on health & safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your own health, safety or welfare.

  • Take ownership to raise SEE cards and either close out the issue or provide a method to get the issue resolved. This applies to safety behaviours & conditions.

  • Ensure that all warehouse equipment has been checked and is safe and suitable to be used as outlined in warehouse procedures.

  • Assist by resolving Warehouse Safety audit findings when necessary.

  • Support with the control of all vehicle movements within the Brecon Road areas.

  • You will also be required to assist with resolving any chemical spills on site in line with COSHH

Quality

  • Maintain your designated area of the Warehouse complex in line with internal procedures that stem from cGMP and GDP principles.

  • Ensure that all internal SOP’s are followed at all times by yourself and others.

  • Ensure that all status control applying to materials is followed in line with GMP principles.

  • Ensure that all materials are located accurately – both physically and on our internal ERP system (JD Edwards)

  • Highlight and report any potential damage to material that could impact on the quality of the product.

  • Responsible for ensuring that any defect in material is highlighted to your line manager for assessment.

  • Responsible for ensuring that any internal process failings are raised to your line manager so that appropriate actions can be taken and controlled where necessary through the raising of UK Internal exceptions.

  • Provide evidence to support in the raising of exceptions as well as providing information that may assist with internal investigations as requested by your line manager.

  • Assist by resolving Warehouse Weekly area audit findings when necessary.

Delivery

  • Maintaining a smooth flow of materials to the production lines on time and in full.

  • Picking works orders for the packaging cubicles and recording any material shortages on our internal tracker.

  • Processing returned materials that are left over from any packaging runs and locating/relocating back in to approve stock locations.

  • Processing any post production waste that is left over from the packaging runs in line with our internal procedures.

  • Ensure that all passed material is located into approved stock locations within 48 hours of them being approved for use by the Warehouse Quality Control Team

  • Locating approved stock in to the correct area and ensuring that appropriate segregation principles are followed.

  • Transferring of pharmaceutical products from our main site to our satellite sites following approved internal procedures.

  • Be responsible for accurately pre-dispensing certain materials to ensure that there is minimal downtime to the packaging cubicles. As and when required cover for the Stores Co-ordinator at times of holiday and sickness.

  • As and when identified and authorised by Warehouse Shift Lead assist with other general warehouse activities or administrative duties required within the department.

  • As part of the role you may be required to attend relevant site operational meetings to ensure the department is serving the needs of the business.

Cost/Lean – People

  • Assist the Stores Co-ordinator in implementing CI projects within the warehouse

  • Ensure that you attend any training session that has been set up for you by the Co-ordinator.

  • Ensure that all internal training records are accurate and up to date through the use of our internal system.

Work Experience and Skills Required

Essential

  • A commitment and willingness to learn and develop

  • Previous experience working in a similar environment: Warehousing, logistics etc

  • Sound judgement for well-rounded and consistent decision making

  • Ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines

  • A high level of computer skills

  • Ability to listen and follow instruction

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent time keeping and time management

  • Ability to work well in busy conditions and operate effectively within a team

  • Able to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner

Desirable

  • Experience within Pharmaceutical Warehouse operations

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Educated to GCSE level (A-C in Maths and English) or equivalent

Desirable

  • Educated to ‘A’ Level or NVQ3 (or equivalent)

  • Fork Lift Truck Licence
