Position Description:

The Field Application Engineer will support the Integra brand for all optical transceivers and fiber solutions. Candidates will possess extensive MSO or ISP market knowledge on various OEM platforms with testing and identifying 3rd party transceivers to meet customer system needs. The ideal candidate will have experience with technical sales support, working with engineers, product line managers, and program managers. The candidate must have experience working with various customer influencers to support the business development sales team to win new business. All potential candidates must have strong networking skills, technical presentation experience, keep up with industry trends, and a proven track record of customer support experience.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise effectively with customers on new projects, product installation, and internally with engineering departments, manufacturing, and Sales team

  • Support Sales in the development of new customers and supporting existing customers with new projects

  • Provide interface with customers via video, phone, email, face-to-face, and live web chat

  • Work closely with Sales in customer discovery to understand the customer’s network architecture and recommend products

  • Providing remote and on-site support including product training, installation support, and troubleshooting

  • Resolve customer issues, questions, and complaints in a professional and collaborative manner

  • Supporting a dynamic sales team in existing sales and new business opportunities to meet brand budget and exceed sales quotas

  • Support trade shows, be involved in key organizations/groups (SCTE, IEEE), and give customer-facing presentations on various topics to educate our customers.

  • Provide quarterly updates on key market trends for products, OEM architecture, and competitor product releases

  • Identify customer and competitor trends and provide technical feedback to marketing and product groups

  • Documenting emerging customer needs and potential new product needs

  • Other duties as assigned

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and business acumen with a customer-centric focus and urgency to meet strategic objectives.

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of technical support experience via remote or face-to-face meetings.

  • Technical experience with OEM routing, switching, and storage platforms and rack equipment.

  • In-depth knowledge of 3rd party transceiver product lines, market trends, and competitor landscape

  • Professional communication skills, written and spoken English, including correct usage of grammar and sentence structure and appropriate professional messaging and tone

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • General computer skills, including a solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams,

  • Experience working in a fast-paced sales environment

  • Experience with a CRM and ERP system preferred

  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly, and occasionally lift 0-40 pounds

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience

    Work Environment:

    Our work environment is typically considered in an office environment located on-site, within an Infinite location during regular or extended business hours. The work environment may include the employee’s residence (Work from Home) or a hybrid combination of home and on-site facility.
