Hinton Rural Life Center Housekeeping Staff in Hayesville, North Carolina
Job Summary:
Housekeepers are to ensure retreat amenities are in perfect condition for our guests. The cleanliness and sanitation of guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, common areas, staff areas and limited exterior areas are the primary responsibility of the housekeeping staff.
Essential Functions:
- Operates washer and dryers to clean all laundry for retreat center including bed linens, towels, and food service linens.
- Clean all houses, office buildings, meeting rooms, and dining room as assigned.
- Follow housekeeping checklist to ensure rooms are swept, vacuumed, mopped, and shampooed/steam cleaned.
- Regularly, wipe down all furniture, windowsills, ledges, blinds, shelves, fans, and other items that collect dust.
- Straighten up all rooms, books, and marketing information to original room set. Ensure that are other items are properly stored.
- Strip and remake all beds using fresh linens. Always, clean under beds.
- Use proper safety techniques when using cleaning products.
- Using a disinfectant and cleaning product, wipe down all toilets, sinks, counters, tubs, showers, shower curtains, mirrors, fixtures and chrome, wastebaskets are thoroughly wiped down.
- Restock bathrooms with fresh towels and toiletries.
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, fixtures and appliances including cabinets.
- Refrigerator, microware and stove needs to be cleaned and disinfected inside and out.
- Dishwasher emptied and all dinnerware be properly cleaned and stored.
- All trash is disposed of and fresh trash bags put in place. Trash is taken to large dumpster in main parking lot.
- All decks and porches are to be swept.
- Check all shelves, counters, drawers and closets for items left behind by guests. Turn in all items collected to the Director of Operations with location found and date, so guests may be contacted.
- Remove cobwebs from ceilings and walls.
- Complete a maintenance request slip for all items in need of repair and/or a safety hazard.
- Follow housekeeping checklist to ensure all tasks have been completed and facility meets cleaning expectations.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and store all laundry linens and toweling.
- Consistently work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
- Maintain a positive image in the community reflecting values and ethics of Hinton.
- Actively participate as a member of Hintons safety team following all safety procedures and encouraging a safe work environment at all times.
- Consistently utilize personal protective equipment as directed.
- Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve housekeeping operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and respectfully with coworkers and staff.
- Occasionally perform deep cleaning to include carpets, upholstery, windows, doors, frames, molding, baseboards, walls, switch plates, cabinetry, linens, curtains, etc.
- Promotes a positive work environment by treating all co-workers and guests with dignity and respect.
