About the role

The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. As a Guest Service Agent, you’ll not only be the person they rely on to handle transactions, offer local insights and anticipate every detail of a friction-free experience. You’ll also create the warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home in any location.

Your day to day

As a key player in enhancing guest experience, you will provide a warm welcome that sets the tone for their stay, managing bookings while identifying upselling opportunities and addressing preferences to ensure satisfaction. You'll acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests, efficiently handling check-ins and check-outs, and offering concierge services as needed. As a brand ambassador, you’ll take pride in your appearance and serve as a trusted point of contact for guests, assisting with inquiries and coordinating with management when necessary. Additionally, you will manage financial transactions responsibly and adhere to safety procedures and company policies to maintain a secure environment.

What we need from you

The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills to effectively address both guest concerns and compliments, making them approachable and easy to talk to. A high school diploma is required, with a college degree being a plus, and certification in QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol is essential. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of experience in a front desk or guest service role, be literate and tech-savvy, and have the physical strength to handle objects up to 32 kg, along with the ability to travel on boats without experiencing sea sickness.

Intended commencement date for this position would be the 9th of December 2024, with the role being located on Hayman Island, Queensland.

Appropriate Australian working rights are required for this role.

The base hourly rate for this position is $25.87 under the Hayman Island Enterprise Agreement, working a minimum of 38 hours per week across a 7-day roster with shifts spanning from early in the morning until later a night.
