We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an IT Support Specialist in the manufacturing industry located in Hazel Park, Michigan. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for enhancing the technical systems of our facility, ensuring that all team members have the necessary technology for their tasks and that the company's sensitive files and information are secure. Responsibilities:
• Provide end user and technical support for production-related applications
• Act as the main point of contact for hardware and software-related queries
• Support scanning and printing activities for all team members
• Assist in implementing system upgrades and maintaining security integrity
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN and Wireless Infrastructure
• Monitor systems, identify problems, escalate and resolve issues
• Develop process and workflow documentation
• Coordinate hardware, operating system, and software setup
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT support role
• Proficiency in Computer Hardware, Database, Active Directory, Backup Technologies, Configuration Management, Basic Network Troubleshooting, MS Windows, MS Office 365, MySQL, VMware, Hardware and Software Support
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
• Familiarity with Configuration Management and Backup Technologies
• Experience in basic network troubleshooting, including knowledge of MS Windows, Teams, and MS Office 365
• Proficiency in database management, with a focus on MySQL
• Knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies, specifically VMware
• Competence in managing both hardware and software solutions in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Experience with JIT or Raspberry PIs is a bonus
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on meeting the needs of internal stakeholders
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for IT support outside of regular business hours.
