POLYGLASS USA, INC. Industrial Maintenance Technician IV in Hazleton, Pennsylvania

*POSITION SUMMARY: *In addition to performing the job level tasks of a Maintenance Technician I, II, and III the Industrial Maintenance Technician IV will be responsible for leading the facility projects including, electrical/PLC, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment, troubleshooting and repair, and preventative maintenance. 

6am -- 6pm         $30.38 - $34.17/hr

6pm -- 6am          $30.38 - $34.17/hr + $2 shift differential

$5,000 sign-on bonus

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Leads various maintenance projects, as necessary. 
  • Supports daily plant operations through effective troubleshooting and repair of equipment, including motors and motor controls.
  • Actively comply with and enforce all safety policies and procedures, with direct reports and contractors and takes appropriate action to eliminate all unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Adheres to the Polyglass Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Maximizes equipment reliability by effectively performing assigned work orders and PMs.  Ensures complete and effective repairs
  • Plans and schedules daily activities: including work completed, actions taken, conditions observed, root cause, preventative action, initiating work orders based on PM observations, measurement or PdM reports, provides recommendations and resources utilized including labor hours and parts. 
  • Interprets manual and computer-generated reports and suggests changes to improve the operability, reliability, and safety of assets.
  • Specifies replacement parts and requisition required repair parts.
  • Manages contractors (design, engineering, labor, construction) and/or lead other engineers and technicians as assigned.
  • Coordinates operations with production, shipping, and other departments.
  • Performs other duties as required. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience with a Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Electrical/ PLC experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required, plus 10 years maintenance manufacturing experience, or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
  • Previous metal fabrication and/or welding experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable of industrial computerized controls, PLC's, variable speed drives, level sensors, limit switches, pressure switches, proximity sensors, photo-electric sensors, and IEC style contractors and starters.

    • Pneumatics
    • Hydraulic Equipment
    • Burner controls and safeties
  • Advanced demonstration in the use of the following tools/equipment:
    • Oxy-Acetylene Torch
    • Pipe threader
    • Rigging tools & equipment
    • Transit
    • Precision measuring equipment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Siemens S5 and S7 PLC programming a plus.
  • Associates Degree in Electrical or similar field.
  • Basic understanding of the use of Lean Manufacturing standards and protocols.  Including but not limited to RCA (5 Whys), TPM, FIFO, Kaizen, Gemba, etc.
  • Certified Electrician strongly preferred.
