Position Overview:The Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of our heavy machinery and vehicle used in forestry operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine maintenance and repair, with a passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections on diesel engines, heavy machinery, and vehicles used in forestry operations.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
- Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities using computerized systems or logs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the procurement of spare parts and maintain inventory levels to support ongoing operations.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and productivity.
- Night shift availability.
- Other duties as assigned.
