The Distribution Supervisor-2nd Shift for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations and developing their team of associates (15+) for fast-paced daily distribution operations. The supervisor analyzes and implements distribution strategies to support customer expectations, including on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and various other key performance indicators for the functional areas. Our supervisors also develop, lead and implement process improvement projects; and practices Lean and Six Sigma principles to achieve established goals and objectives.

This position is part of the Distribution Center located in Hebron, KY and will be on-site. Second shift hours are 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM, Monday-Thursday (4 - 10 hour shifts). At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Refer(Refrigeration) Department and report to the Distribution Operations Manager responsible for daily inbound shipments. If you thrive in a fast-paced, multifunctional role and want to work to build a world-class supply chain organization—read on!

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction in a Lean environment.

  • Coordinate with other Supervisors to build and execute productivity plans by reviewing work volume forecasts, determining productivity requirements, and partnering to balance labor across the facility.

  • Communicate policies to associates and act as the primary information source for the team, maintaining compliance and consistency, and taking corrective action when required

  • Perform root cause analysis using the problem-solving process/PSP and 5 Why’s to develop a logical solution

  • Provide performance feedback and development opportunities to direct reports, including monthly 1-on-1 meetings with associates.

The essential requirements of the job include

  • Bachelors degree with 5+ years experience, or Masters with 3+ years experience

  • 5+ years experience leading a team of 10+ associates in a warehouse environment with the ability to motivate and develop associates

  • Experience with Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably Oracle and intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Lean/Six Sigma experience in a Continuous Improvement Environment.

  • Proven ability to make decisions, collaborate and thrive in an ambiguous environment with minimal support at times
