Position Annual Hourly Civil Engineering Specialist (Level 1) $64,582.00 $31.049234 Civil Engineering Specialist (Level 2) $67,219.00 $32.317131 Civil Engineering Specialist (Level 3) $77,711.00 $37.361436 * *Helena – Bridge (Civil Engineer Specialist - 3 positions):These positions in the Bridge Bureau are responsible for designing and developing construction plans and documents for bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects. This work involves evaluating the problem or proposal; interpreting data; analyzing a structural system; selecting alternatives; documenting designs and calculations; preparing plans and writing construction documents. The employee commits the Department to a specific course of action through this design work. Decisions made, and methods used are based on the engineer's knowledge and judgement. The engineer is responsible for minimizing errors in their work and discovering errors in other’s work during design reviews. Helena - Road Design (2 positions): *These positions create plans packages that include Road Plans, written specifications, and cost estimates. This work entails design and evaluation of alternatives using Autodesk Civil 3D software, computation of geometric data, estimation of plan quantities, assembly of plan sheets, coordination with other technical specialists and incorporation of their recommendations, and specification writing. Additionally, these positions prepare milestone reports throughout project development.
