Job Title: Business Analyst - Transportation Specialist

Job Location: Canyon Fuel Company, LLC. Skyline Mine

Overall Job Purpose: The Business Analyst - Transportation Specialist is crucial for optimizing the shipping and logistics of coal from two mines, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport. This role involves analyzing and reporting shipping data, coordinating with mine operations, and providing financial insights to reduce costs and improve shipping efficiency.

Responsibilities Include:

Logistics and Shipping Coordination: Oversee the coal shipments from both mines. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Financial Analysis for Shipping Operations: Conduct financial analysis related to shipping and logistics, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of shipments, analyze shipping trends, and prepare reports for management on logistics performance.

Collaboration with Mining Operations: Work closely with mining operations teams to ensure alignment between mining output and shipping schedules.

Budgeting and Cost Control: Assist in budgeting for shipping operations and monitor expenses to ensure they stay within budget.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in shipping and logistics to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Preferred/Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Preferred).
• Experience in Logistics: Experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar role, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze shipping data and financial reports to make informed decisions.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics software and MS Excel. Experience with Oracle or SAP is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues in shipping processes and develop effective solutions.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage shipping and quality data from multiple mines efficiently.

This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can contribute effectively to the logistics management and decision-making processes of the organization.
