The Role
The Lumen Federal Government Security team is looking for an experienced System Administrator with Information System Security management (ISSM) experience as well. We need our skills to lead managing and maintaining small closed networks for government contracts. Individual will be part of a bigger security team and help support multiple network platforms from refresh architecting hardware to daily User support activities and all duties that come with government contract compliance. The best candidates will be self-starters who can come in ready to pickup the network leadership reigns and help guide our group into best secure environments and overall secure data processing.
The Main Responsibilities
Directly provide System Administration oversight and management with hands on duties including, but not limited to:
Upkeep of current closed networks support government contracts in secure spaces
System future planning, equipment procurement and installation TBDoUser support at general and privileged levelsoMaintain Software versions
Provide Security support on secure networks from start to finish to include running scans, software patching and anti-virus updates
Be Subject Matter Expert (SME) on networks assigned and support other InfoSec team members as needed.Contribute to required documentation both in house and to government customer, ongoing.Other duties as assigned
What We Look For in a Candidate
Typically 8+ years of IT Security experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education and experience; 6+ year of IT Security experience with Master’sDegree; Active Security clearance required.
Must have strong knowledge of Windows Server & Workstation Operating System Administration & Maintenance to include hardware installation through decommissioning
Must have strong knowledge of Active Directory System Administration & Maintenance
Must have some knowledge of Hyper-V System Administration & Maintenance to include virtual machine administration
Must have some knowledge Group Policy & how it works with Active Directory
Must have experience with Patching Windows Operating Systems
Assess operational business processes to ensure security is appropriately integrated.Assess potential risks with new applications and products and provide security requirements and recommendations for risk mitigation to help the business succeed with their projects.
Directly engages in advanced troubleshooting and delivery with stakeholders, including end customers.
Consult as security subject matter expert with network architects, engineers, and others on solutions to security problems.
Recommend new information security systems and controls to mitigate emerging threats and risks across the company.
Ensure reports and findings are delivered in a timely and appropriate manner to management, operations and executive leadership.
Recommend new security policy, standards, best practices, and system configuration standards. Consult with internal clients on security topics and policy interpretation.
Identify higher risk areas of the corporate and carrier infrastructure for assessment.
Coordinate activities across multiple departments and business units.
Advanced experience in networking (TCP/IP) protocols, computer/network security, and system administration.
Advanced knowledge of event collection technologies.
Background in INFOSEC operations, endpoint management, and network topology
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$109,330 - $145,770 in these states: VA
As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
