Global national security and defense (G-NSD) customers are as diverse as they are resourceful. G-NSD customers operate under varying circumstances requiring secure innovative technical solutions and operating models to deliver time bound mission outcomes. The G-NSD team is obsessed with understanding our customer’s needs and finding ways to accelerate our customer’s ability to access and benefit from the cloud . We dive deep to understand how our commercial services can be applied to delivering secure mission centered solutions in time to benefit rapidly emerging and typically fleeting mission performance timelines. We are seeking leaders and owners who share our passion for the national security and defense mission and bring diverse experiences and perspectives supported by bar raising technical skills and passion for delighting customers in the national security and defense mission space.

The global national security and defense team is seeking a senior program manager with a passion for organizing tasks supported by resources located across the globe to deliver customer obsessed, business impacting, and high visibility outcomes. The ideal candidate will be prepared to engage with all levels of AWS leadership and among essential and dependent teams to bring together matrixed project teams, define deliverables, seek and press forward to meet deliverable commitments among deliverable owners, and participate in global national security and defense solution planning and performance reporting. The Ideal candidate will bring strong writing skills, own and deliver written content common to a strategic business development program. Responsibilities will include preparing project plans, defining project deliverables, working with deliverable owners to deliver committed deliverables on plan, developing data centric performance reports for senior leaders, participating in developing program level goals, scheduling and leading virtual and in-person meetings with AWS stakeholders, customers, and partners, and producing go to market enablement resources. You will challenge yourself and your Amazonian peers to think bigger and long term as we partner with NSD mission customers and partners to address a rapidly changing global NSD threat environment. Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will own ensuring GNSD delivers goals, projects and commitments while remaining aligned to the team’s vision and WWPS strategic business plans. Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Working on the strategic direction and evolution of the team

  • Managing vetted partner relationships through a solution based partner program

  • Multi-track event creation on behalf of customers and sales teams

  • Monitoring and measuring progress on goals and projects

  • Driving stakeholder management for key issues and closing the loop on actions required

  • Working through ambiguity to determin best course of action to unblock team initiatives, escalate with appropriate data driven perspectives to influence external team directions, priorities.

  • Representing and driving team priorities in cross functional global leadership strategy and planning docs and doc reviews.

  • Analysis of organizational performance and presenting to GNSD Directors

  • Developing institutional knowledge around your program

  • Establishing mechanisms to drive operational rigor and performance

  • Streamlining existing processes to reduce operational burden and frontline expenditure

  • Cultivating partner relationships to expand the GNSD Trusted Secure Enclaves Vetted Partner Program and Commercial Mission Solutions repositories.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
