Amazon Sr. ADC Engineer, ADC Networking in Herndon, Virginia

Description

Would you like to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve the world's most complex technical problems? Do you have a deep passion and desire to engineer and operate the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure to build a better world for future generations?

This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.

Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineers (ADCE) on the team are responsible for maintaining the network tools/systems mentioned above within US GovCloud and other US Government air gapped regions. This includes troubleshooting problems with systems and services, regular deployment of new versions of the services and their subcomponents, validation and testing, service monitoring, and standing up new services. The team works with many different internal Software Development teams to drive improvement of the services within the team's scope. It is important to be able to work collaboratively and independently to investigate and document issues and create solutions to solve them at scale.

Additionally, Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineers assist in developing software and automation for our own services that enable our internal customers to reduce time to production and increase reliability of software deployments. This role is more of a generalist engineering role for those that like a wide variety of engineering disciplines as a career path. Also ideal for engineers that have aspirations to grow their skillset in the direction of SysDE or SDE roles.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
